Abstract

Aim. To determine MMP-2 and MMP-2 levels in aspirate’s plasma of bone marrow of patients with acute myeloid leukemia and to evaluate their prognostic significance. Methods. The level of MMP-2 and MMP-9 were studied in 76 patients (32 in complete remission ad 44 in non complete remission). ELISA kits (R&D systems) were used. Results and discussion. The level of MMP-2 and MMP-9 at the period of AML diagnosis was lower than in complete remission (р = 0.0001). The level increased in complete remission and decreased in relapse. Conclusion. The level of MMP-2 and MMP-9 are perspective markers to determine the volume of residual disease during the treatment of patients with acute myeloid leukemia.
