Abstract
The objective of this study was to study the effect of the tranexamic acid use and drug-induced vasoconstriction on the blood loss during decompression and stabilization operations on the lumbar spine. Medical histories of 702 patients underwent such interventions with and without the use of blood salvage technologies have been analyzed. The obtained results testify to the decrease in blood loss when using drug-induced vasoconstriction and efficient antifibrinolytic therapy in some clinical cases.
