Toward a question of the pathogenesis of writer’s cramp
Abstract
One way of understanding the formation mechanisms of muscular hand dystonia is the investigation of the functional contribution of afferent system basic levels: 1) receptors of various modalities: from muscle proprioceptors involved into dystonic process to different segmental levels of spinal cord, as the primary patterns of afferent organizing, compulsory movement start and its control are formed exactly in spinal cord; 2) subcortical suprasegmental structures carrying out the integration of various compulsory automatic movements and controlling muscle spindle affectability, gamma-motorial innervation and gamma-alpha-neuronal coupling; 3) integral specific systems of brain and hemispherical systems, where the afferentation synthesis final stage is performed and the conditions of program of voluntary movements and perceptual behavior are formed; 4) processes of preparing and realization of the intended activity on the basis of analysis of fingers motion stereotype.
