Combined treatment of patients with malignant dysphagia

Abstract

The aim of the study was the evaluation of the results of esophageal and esophageal anastomosis stenting and the use of conformal radiation therapy after stent insertion.  Materials and methods: esophageal and esophageal anastomosis stenting has been conducted in 166 patients (radiation therapy has been carried out in 25 of them). Results: restoration of patency of the esophagus was achieved in 164 patients. Radiation therapy was performed without complications and splitting the doze. Life expectancy after stenting was from 2 weeks to 2 years.
