Abstract

The morphofunctional characteristic of the superficial veins of upper and lower limbs in normal and properties of the superficial veins of upper limbs of patients with chronic kidney disease of stage 5 has been presented. The additional classification of superficial veins types has been carried out depending on the specificity of morphological structure. There were severe structural changes in superficial vein wall, such as structural disorganization and multiple sclerosis, in case of chronic kidney disease. There were significant differences in morphometric characteristic of cephalic vein wall in normal and in patients with chronic kidney disease of stage 5, such as hyperplasia and hypertrophy intimal and middle layers.
