Abstract

The histological study of changes in the thymus of female Wistar rats after breast tumor surgical removal (after 6 months from the start of the experiment) induced by intramammary administration of N-methyl-N-nitrosourea has been carried out. The structural features of the accidental involution formation manifested in a less pronounced way compared to the group with breast tumor without treatment have been revealed. The combination of lumpectomy with chemotherapy, compared to the group with the lumpectomy without chemotherapy causes the more pronounced thymus involution characterized by increased migration of lymphocytes from the thymus, delymphotization of morphofunctional zones of thymic parenchyma.
