Surgical treatment of open fracture of limbs in case of polytrauma
Abstract
The review considers the peculiarities of surgical tactics in open fractures of extremities in patients with multiple injuries, in accordance with modern concepts of treatment of severe multiple and associated injuries. Analysis of the literature shows that open fractures in polytrauma are high-energy, complex with extensive damage to the soft tissues and bones. The choice of the timing and method of fixation in open fractures and their outcome in polytrauma affect the severity of associated injuries and victim status, the degree of destruction of soft tissues, fracture type and its location.
